Shaker model with or without rounded edges

This is the only model we can make with rounded edges for child safety. This means all sharp edges are rounded to 1/8 and the top corners are rounded to 1/4. This is useful is a toddler were to bump into it, then the impact would be less sharp. Also, the grill slots spacing is 1/2-inch gap, this is toddlers can’t stick their hands between the slots. In addition, we secure the radiator covers so they don’t tip over in the case a child was to pull on it. And an added benefit of wood radiator covers is that they only get warm to the touch meaning it does not burn if touched, feels soothing in winter months. Having radiator covers prevents toddlers from touching the hot radiators once they start crawling and pets love like the warm feeling to.

The Build and Finish details

The Shaker Radiator Cover frame is 3.5 inches wide, and the grill slots are 1.5 inches wide. The top’s edges are rounded to 1/8th and the overhangs in the front and sides by 1/2 inch. Once painting starts, the covers get for coats of spray paint. Two coats of primer sealant inside and out and then 2 coats of the final color in either Satin or Semi-Gloss. The material we use are real solid wood that is knots free and furniture grade plywood.
